At one of my last Kambô ceremonies I observed it again, this intensely strenuous experience of going through the cleansing process during the ceremony. Surrendering to the power of Kambô and at the same time regaining my strength.

I was lying on the floor, feeling bad, Kambô was overwhelming me . It simply felt easier at that moment to go through the process lying down rather than sitting down. The nausea was easier to bear there, but I couldn't really make any progress. It was a matter of enduring and bearing. The medicine was still working and would continue to work. So I was still feeling bad, just not as bad as when I was sitting down. I lay there and surrendered to this torture. And in this situation this inner, quiet voice came and said: SIT UP MITCH, SIT UP AND GET THROUGH IT! So I gathered all my willpower and sat down. I sat up and immediately felt the medicine flooding in stronger again. I noticed how it continued to spread through my system and seemed to flow through every cell. I fought, stayed sitting, stood firm, I stood up for myself! And then it was there - the point at which it released itself and wanted to get out of me. I handed over all the heaviness , the lethargy and the things that no longer belonged to me to the bucket in front of me.

Cleansing on a physical and mental level ...

For me, this little anecdote reveals one of the quintessences of working with Kambô. The wonderfully powerful spirit of this medicine wants to help me (and of course everyone else who gets involved with it) to stand up for myself and to find my POWER , NOT to make myself small but to be SELF-EFFICIENT , NOT to hide but to be VISIBLE .

This is how a Kambô treatment can go, but it doesn't have to! On my path I have experienced numerous other states, or have been able to witness them. It is (your) personal process and no matter how it goes, it is exactly right! The spirit of the frog wants our highest good, which can manifest itself in very different ways.
